Once again, I was blessed with a wonderful Mother's Day celebration with my family. Amanda, Chad, Peyton and Apollo arrived on Friday evening. Chad and Ron played in the Hospital Auxillary Golf Tournament on Saturday morning. Great Grandma spent the morning at our house having coffee and playing with Peyton. The weather was beautiful, so we spent the morning outside, where Peyton is happiest. She loves her bubble gun and enjoyed chasing the bubbles, trying to catch them. The laughter and giggles of a two year old are priceless. Later in the afternoon, we took Peyton to the Aquatic Center so she could show us her swimming lessons skills. Uncle Mark, Joe and Gramma joined us for a BBQ at our house to celebrate Mother's Day Saturday evening - a fun evening with family.
The Todds went home late Saturday evening after Peyton enjoyed her bath and foam soap that she loves at Grammy's, so that they could celebrate Amanda's mother's day at home. On Sunday, Ron and I joined Mark, Joe and Mom at Mom's house where I fixed fried chicken for us. Another day of good food and family time. Mary and Tom were unable to join us this time due to work and school commitments - we missed them.
Holidays are hard for all of us without Daddy - but we tried to enjoy making family memories none-the-less. God has blessed us in so many ways, and the love of my family is one of His greatest gifts.
