Early October 2016
I cannot remember where I last left off, so some of this may be a repeat. Garrison joined us for the last weekend in September. He had a blast having a lemonade stand at Debbie Sieger and my garage sale for the city-wide garage sale weekend. He sold lemonade, water and cookies and took in $35 - he was thrilled. He was such a good boy all day and was there from 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.!!!! He had fun petting SaraSue, the Sieger basset and playing with Mayzie, their golden lab. He was polite and talked to his "customers" - "what would you like?" Later that night, we took him to the Davis R-12 School chicken dinner fundraiser. He thought it was funny to see grandpa's picture on the wall for his graduation from that school - 8th grade. On Sunday, he went to church with us before we took him home and met the rest of the family at Dickey's BBQ for lunch. Garrison was so proud to purchase the big Batman Transformer with his garage sale money.
The following weekend, we went to Overland Park to watch Garrison's soccer match. It was a beautiful day and fun to watch.
Our P.E.O. Chapter had a hayride/weenie roast at the Wetzel's cabin, High Bank, which was well attended. The husbands joined in the fun, and we had a big group.
On Columbus Day, Ron and I went to OP for Garrison/Grammy and Grandpa Day!!! We started at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead where he had a good time giving the baby goats a bottle and petting all the animals. He had fun getting taffy at the General Store and liked feeding the goats, chickens and ducks. He said the Bison was his favorite animal. Next was to the theatre to see the movie, Storks. He sat quietly throughout the movie, giggling and having a great time. We went to lunch at Freddy's - he loved his chicken strips and of course, the chocolate ice cream with gummy worms, whipped cream and a cherry - his order! Next to Scheel's to bowl at their little bowling alley, and he played virtual hockey and baseball. When we came home, he enjoyed playing in the back yard and climbing a tree with his sister, who we had picked up from school.
Two of the pictures above are the kids in their Halloween costumes - they are ready.
