1st Chemo Treatment and EASTER 2018
On Tuesday, Ron and I were at St. Luke's East for my first chemo treatment at 8:15 a.m. I saw the doctor first and then had blood work and then the actual chemo treatment - two different medicines. We were there 5 hours. It went well, just time consuming. I was feeling pretty good afterward, so we stopped at Longhorn Steak House for a late lunch of steak and baked potato - it tasted good.
I felt pretty good on Wednesday. Thursday was the day that wasn't the best. Nauseous and constipated and very tired, but I survived. Not feeling tops on Friday either, but manageable.
On Saturday, we had our Mintun/Arthur/Todd Easter celebration 2018. Mark, Mary, Chad, Amanda, Peyton and Garrison all arrived around 10:30 a.m. and the fun began. The kids opened their Easter baskets and had an egg hunt with the plastic eggs in the house. Garrison crawled up on Baby Mark's lap first thing and both kids enjoyed playing with play dough with Aunt Mary.
We had a lower key meal, mostly snack foods for lunch. Mary brought delicious deviled eggs and a veggie tray - it worked out fine. After lunch, Grandpa hid the hardboiled eggs outside for the kids - 3 times. It was a bit chilly but not bad. It was nice to be outside. What a fun, family day.
Easter Sunday, we did not go to church because of the crowd and germs, but we listened on the radio. Had a slow day.
I am very pleased how my body reacted to t he first chemo treatment - I hope the rest of them go as well. We are blessed.
