November 2018

I'm a little behind.  Two weekends ago, Amanda/family stopped by on Friday night (first Friday in November) to spend the night before they left for Branson/Silver Dollar City with friends on Saturday morning.  We loved having them and enjoyed the visit, even though it was short.  They came back through on Sunday morning - it was so much fun hearing trip stories from the kids - how they rode the roller coasters so many times, etc.  Fun times.

The following Sunday, I played a two-piano piece, Canon in D, with Marnie Bellamy at both services, and we both accompanied the choir at the second service.  It was a lot of practice and a lot of work but so much fun.

Peyton and Chad ran a 5K with her Girls on the Run group in very cold weather.  We were so proud of Peyton for accomplishing this task, and she was proud of herself.   That Sunday Amanda was given tickets for all 4 of them for the Chiefs game for a suite - they had a blast and the Chiefs won.

I have the tablecloth ironed and on the bed upstairs for our annual Thanksmas (combination of Thanksgiving and Christmas) Mintun/Arthur/Todd celebration which will be the Saturday after Thanksgiving this year.  It is a treasure for sure with signatures from all of us, including Mom and Daddy's signatures, for several years now.  Many thanks to Mary for embroidering the names and the year on the tablecloth every year.  We did handprints of Peyton and Garrison until they could sign their names.  I am so grateful to have the memories of Mom and Daddy with us on the tablecloth every year.  Miss them so much.   The kids remember it every year and think it is cool.

We went to Overland Park early yesterday morning, stopping at Kohl's, Price Chopper and Hyvee before going to the Todds.  We all went to lunch at Houlihans before Garrison's indoor soccer match where he scored 2 goals.  I took meatballs and cowboy bacon, by request of Peyton, for her to have at her friends sleepover birthday party Saturday night.  I hear they all had a good time!

I'm feeling so much better now and looking forward to Thanksgiving this week.  We are going to work at the Community Thanksgiving Dinner like we did last year and will eat the meals they give us afterward with the Sieger's.  Todds will arrive sometime Thursday evening, and we will celebrate Peyton's birthday with a Kit Kat Pie (by request from Pinterest).  Baking Day and Golf on Friday.  Thanksmas with Mark and Mary too on Saturday.  Lots to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and every day - cancer free - feeling good again - God is good - we are blessed.
