State Cheer/Basketball/Peyton is 16/Baking Day

The last part of November 2024 was busy, busy!

Peyton's Blue Valley Northwest Cheer Squad took 2nd place - only missed first by .06 of a percentage point, but she had fun and did well.  Amanda and Chad drove to Topeka to support her.

While they were doing that,  Grandpa and Grammy had the privilege of taking Garrison to his basketball game and then out to dinner at Cactus Grill and dessert at Andy's Custard.  We had a blast and loved listening to his stories.  Oh - and he played great at the basketball game and they won!

Peyton turned 16 on November 20.  While the family was at Disney World celebrating, Bingo had a Clinton vacation with us.  We had fun playing with him and taking him for daily walks.  He was a good boy.  The family had a great time at Disney - Garrison was especially looking forward to eating "the kitchen sink" and not having to eat healthy for 3 days - ha ha.

Ron and I worked again at the Henry County Turkey Talker's community meal - serving 1400 - we are in charge of putting the turkey in the containers.   We then had our turkey dinners at the Siegers along with pecan pie.

We celebrated Peyton's birthday in Clinton over Thanksgiving.  One more time of celebrating the 16 year old who now has an unrestricted driver's license.  We also had our traditional games - Saran Wrap Ball, pass the gifts, etc.  We had a good time.  On Friday, we had our 21st annual Baking Day.  Garrison followed the tradition of unwrapping 100 mini-Reese's Peanut Butter cups and rolos.  We baked a new cookie - maraschino cherry cookies and several traditional items too.  We watched the Chiefs game together and had our Thanksgiving dinner - non-traditional meatballs, baked potatoes and Amanda's broccoli slaw for dinner before they went home.  The house was eerily quiet after they left.

We are blessed - God is good.
