Peyton Visit
Grandpa, Great-Grandma Mintun, Murray and I motored to Olathe Sunday after church for a great, but too-short visit with Peyton and Amanda. Chad was playing golf, but we saw him for a few minutes before we headed back to Clinton. We enjoyed pizza for lunch. Peyton was a little fussy when we first arrived as she had been refusing to eat since 8:30 a.m.! Shortly after lunch, she took a little nap which refreshed her enough to nurse, which made her Momma very happy. We were all happy afterward, as she was a blast! She laughed, kicked her legs, held her foot (only her left one), "talked", showed off in her new jumperoo, smiled, smiled some more, anI d basically made four adults melt at her very presence. She still loves to watch "Rockin' Elmo". Spending the afternoon with her reinforced what I already knew - we live too far away from her!!! It had been 10 days since I last saw her, and that was for 3 days in a row, and I missed her terribly. I also have been missing Amanda - I got used to seeing her a few days a week for 3 months, and now....... I do feel fortunate that they are only 1 1/2 hours away, and we can see more of them that a lot of grandparents - and Amanda is so very good to call and keep us up-to-date. And that blog of hers is great - I'll bet our visit will be posted sometime soon. We had an uneventful drive home and had fun talking about all the fun we had visiting. We appreciate Amanda, Chad and Peyton welcoming us to their home and sharing Peyton with us!
