Mom's 85th Birthday and Goodbye to Murray

Our week started tearfully as we said goodbye to a member of our family - Murray - age almost 12 who gave up the fight following kidney stone surgery (3rd one) early Monday morning with Mom and me both present.  It is so hard to let our pets go who love us unconditionally - even when we don't love ourselves.  We were heartbroken and devastated.  He was not only "our boy" but was Mom's constant companion for the past 2 1/2 years since Daddy passed away.  We love you Murray and will miss you always!!!!!  Rest in peace.

On Friday, Mom, Debbie Sieger and I took a little road trip to the Amish General Store and then to Donna's Drive In for delicious tenderloins to celebrate Debbie's and Mom's birthdays (10th and 12th).  It was a fun day, ending at Debbie's for birthday cake!  We had a great day.

On Saturday, Mom and I started our day with going to garage sales.  We had a fun time, then spent the rest of the morning preparing for Mom's birthday party on Sunday.  Saturday night, we went to a wedding and reception at the Elks and had a blast.

Sunday, we had a birthday party for Mom - #85!  Mark and Mary (and Lenny) came to Clinton mid-morning and visited with Mom at her house before coming to our house where Amanda, Chad, Peyton, Garrison and Apollo had arrived for the big noon event.  We had a delicious ham meal, and Peyton added the candles to the cake and both she and Garrison helped Grandma blow out the candles.  It was a fun day.
We then went to our Supper Club gathering Sunday evening.

A week filled with sadness when Murray passed and with happiness for Grandma's 85th birthday.

We are blessed.
