Quite a Week II - February 15, 2014
Ron's health issues continued this week. On Tuesday, very early - can you say 4:30 a.m. - we left Clinton for St. Luke's Hospital on the Plaza for his second (and we hope final) kidney stone surgery - outpatient. Everything went very well, and we were headed home by 10 a.m.! We stopped to get him a breakfast sandwich at McDonald's in Belton, and he even let me run into Sam's Club for a few minutes before heading on home - we arrived around 12:30 p.m.! Woo Hoo! The doctor was able to get the stone out without breaking it up, and he doesn't have to go back for a check up for 3 weeks. He is very tired and exhausted, but no pain and went back to work on Thursday.
Amanda, Peyton and Garrison came to Clinton on Saturday for a visit - always a good thing for us! They stopped at Grammaw's first, where we all played and had a good time. Then we went to the bank to visit Grandpa, as he had to work on Saturday. They enjoyed Grandpa showing them the vault and taking them on a tour of the bank. They sat in his chair and played "banker" with his calculator, etc. They hid in his closet in his office and had lots of giggles and suckers! A fun time.
After getting home, we played downstairs - birthday party (resembled a tea party) - dress up - bean box - Peyton always likes to play downstairs with Grammaw!
After Grandpa got back home, we had lunch - meatballs, rice, glazed carrots, hot bread and delicious coconut cream pie that Grammaw made! Yummo! We played some more before they had to head back to Overland Park to check on Daddy. The visits are never long enough.
Saturday afternoon, Ron and I went to Florence Goslin's 80th birthday party. We enjoyed visiting and catching up with many old friends.
Hopefully next week will be a bit slower! We are blessed.
