First Week in July 2015
There was a bit of a letdown after the big Olde Glory Days weekend, but we survived!!!! It's been busy.
I worked my volunteer job at the church on Monday morning in the office for a couple of hours then ran errands.
Wednesday was Mom and Daddy's 65th wedding anniversary, so it was somewhat of a sad day for me. But - I have a peace knowing they are together, something Mom had missed for the past four years. Love and miss them.
On Thursday, I entered items in the Home Ec Dept. of the Henry County Fair - I won a red ribbon and a white ribbon. That evening was the monthly PEO Meeting which was fun.
Friday was garage sale day. I found a few things and had a good time. I spent a couple of hours over at 810 doing some upkeep cleaning, etc. We had Deb and David Mills over for dinner Friday night which was fun. We visited for 5 hours, and it seemed like 30 minutes.
Saturday morning, it was time for more garage sales. I was thrilled to find tap shoes for Peyton for dance class which starts in September for $1 - beats $30! They didn't look like they had ever been warn. Found Garrison boxing gloves - holy cow. It was so hot on Saturday, after we got our chores done, we watched a couple of movies and stayed inside!
On Sunday, we went to Overland Park to visit with Amanda and the kids while Chad played in a golf tournament. We went to lunch at Dickey's BBQ - kids eat free on Sundays - yay! Grandpa and I brought Garrison home with us while Amanda and Peyton went school clothes shopping - or at least that is what we thought. As it turns out, Peyton wanted to get her American Girl Doll's ears pierced and asked Mommy on the way if she could get HER ears pierced too - so she did! She was so proud to show us when they got back home. She and the doll had matching earrings.
Plan was for Amanda and both kids to go to a birthday party (one of Peyton's friends) at Chuckie Cheese at 4 pm., however, Garrison was napping, so he stayed home, and we stayed with him. He woke up in a fantastic mood, and we had a good time playing after he woke up. When the girls got back home, we came back to Clinton after a fun, fun day.
We made wonderful family memories - we are so blessed. God is good.
