Peyton & Amanda Visit Clinton

Peyton and Amanda made a visit to Clinton today - and boy, were they popular. First stop was the Family Services Office where Peyton met all of Grammy's co-workers. They were all enthralled with her. After her Amanda fed Peyton, all three of us went to Hawthorn Bank to meet all of Grandpa's co-workers. Peyton was a hit there too!!!

Great-Grandma Mintun fixed a delicious fried chicken dinner/chocolate pie lunch for all of us, including Ron. Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa both held Peyton and enjoyed her immensely. We left Apollo and Murray with the Mintuns while Amanda, Peyton and I went to Walmart. We saw a few people we knew at Walmart who of course thought Peyton was gorgeous.

Amanda and Peyton picked up the dogs at Mintuns while I ran to Aldi to get some of the things we forgot to get at Walmart!

Great-Grandma Arthur stopped by to visit with Peyton after we returned home. Grandpa came home early from the bank (which never happens, but with Peyton here, well......) and starting holding Peyton immediately.

Grandpa went to Smith's Restaurant Express to get us a tenderloin for dinner - that is what sounded good to Amanda. It was delicious.

Plan was for Peyton and Amanda to go to choir practice with me to meet the choir, but she had been a little fussy all afternoon, and it was soooooo cold, so we came to the conclusion it was best for her to make an appearance at choir practice some other time. They stayed home with Grandpa while I went to choir practice. Grandpa then went to church to the Board Meeting. When I returned home, Amanda had Peyton dressed for bed and was feeding her. I got to burp her one last time and love on her - then they went home. It was sad. I didn't want them to go. Amanda called - Peyton was asleep by the time they got outside the city limits and slept all the way home - as did Apollo.

Words can't express how wonderful it was to have them here today. I hadn't seen Peyton for a week - she had changed so much. So much more alert, stronger, etc. We compared her pictures with Amanda's baby pictures - they could be twins. A carbon copy.

What a blessing to get to spend the day with them - we hope they come back soon!!!!!!!! We love them so much.
