The Nutcracker and More - December 2015

The first week in December was unusually warm.  Ron and I took advantage of the nice weather on Saturday and raked leaves - oh joy!  It really wasn't too bad, and it was nice to get things cleaned up around the house.  Saturday evening, we went to the bank's Christmas party - munchies, mingling and watching Love The Coopers movie at the newly remodeled movie theatre.

On Sunday, I play the organ at both church services and then headed to Overland Park,  I shopped at Kohl's, Walgreens and HyVee before going to the Todds to meet up with Amanda and Peyton to go to an early dinner/late lunch at Olive Garden and then to The Nutcracker Ballet at The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.  We met Peyton's Aunt April, Cousin Whitney and one of Whitney's friends at the ballet - Grandma Todd was unable to attend as Nana (Teresa's mother and Peyton's great-grandmother) is in the hospital.  The Nutcracker was great - it was so much fun watching Peyton taking it all in, applauding loudly and having a great time.

Instead of driving home late by myself, I spent the night (Peyton slept with me) and took both kids to school Monday morning.  I also had lunch with Peyton at her school Monday - she requested Jimmy Johns and I surprised her with a red velvet cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes.  We had a great time.  I was home by 3:30 p.m. and am looking forward to going back on Thursday to attend Garrison's pre-school Christmas program.

We are blessed.
