April 2018

I'm behind on my blog, so this might be a big jumbled up and not necessarily in chronological order!

I've now had 3 of the AC Chemo Cancer Treatments and have done well.  My hair is gone - it started falling out in clumps, so I had it shaved and started wearing my wig (occasionally).  I've had lots of compliments on the wig and people think I look younger - did I look old with brown hair?????  ha ha

Treatment #2 went a little better than #1 and #3 went better than #2 - less nausea because of more nausea medicine.  A little more bone pain with #3 but manageable.  I have been blessed.

Ron took a vacation day, and we went to OP on 4/16 to spend the day with Peyton and Garrison while they were out of school - lucky grandparents!  We had fun playing board games, doing crafts and playing outside.  Peyton volunteered to do her piano practicing and wanted me to sit and listen to her play - I usually have to beg!  Peyton was very attentive to me, as I wasn't feeling tops - always asking what she could get for me, etc.  Ron played outside with them while I had a 45 minute rest which was nice.  When Amanda came home, we all had chicken noodle soup for a quick dinner so we could visit with her a bit.  All in all, a good day.

We went to OP to see the Todds and watch Garrison play soccer on Saturday, 4/28.  It was only 5 days after my treatment, so I was still a big nauseous and fatigued, but we had a great time, and I'm glad we went.   Garrison scored 6 goals - he was on fire.  I played a game with Peyton - Ron played a game with Garrison.  All 6 of us went to Olive Garden for a yummy lunch.  Rested when I got home.

Mary's brother-in-law, Elizabeth Underwood's husband, Steve, passed away on Friday.  So sad - he was only 52.  Our sympathies to their family.

One of the pictures is of the peonies Amanda transplanted at her home from Mom's bushes at 810 - they are looking great this year.  Mine are up but not nearly as full.  She must have a green thumb.  Nice to have them as memories from 810.

There's a picture of Garrison climbing the tree in their back yard - the little monkey.  And - he was able to get down by himself too.  Peyton and her friend, Isabella, are roasting marshmallows for s'mores - a beautiful Saturday to do outdoor things.

3 Chemo Treatments down - 5 to go - I'm hoping for a good, feeling better week - usually I feel better the week after treatment before I start over again.  God is good, and we are blessed.
