Easter Weekend 2019
Amanda and Peyton flew to Chicago on Friday for Peyton's birthday gift weekend with her Mom - Peyton was so excited. They did all kinds of fun things while there, including a trip to the American Girl Store (original) where she bought a new doll. They had Chicago style pizza and ate at all kinds of fun places. What a wonderful trip for them. They fly home today, Monday, 4/22.
On Saturday, 4/20, Grandpa and I drove to Overland Park to see Garrison play soccer. They had such a wonderful match - won 8-3 - and Garrison scored a goal - he was thrilled. It was a beautiful day to sit outside in the sun and be with our grandson. Chad had some things to do around the house, so he declined the invitation to go to lunch with us, but Garrison was excited to go along for our errands and lunch.
We bought Ron a new tennis racket and balls at Dick's - Garrison found some little football men he had had his eye on, so the boys were all happy. Made a return at Justice before having lunch at Culver's. It was a short visit, but we had lots of one-on-one time with Garrison, which he seemed to enjoy - he even mentioned he doesn't get much time alone with us and is looking forward to Grammy and Garrison day with Grandpa going along as the Uber driver - too funny.
It was a glorious Easter Sunday - huge crowds at both our services at UMC. I was blessed to have the opportunity to play the organ at both services - there is nothing better than Christ the Lord is Risen Today with the organ, piano (Marnie Bellamy) and the trumpets - everyone sang so loud! I also played the Hallelujah Chorus from the Messiah on the organ with Brenda Ford, Janet Parks and Marnie Bellamy on the piano - 8 hands - it was fantastic. We received many compliments - it was so much fun. The youth had a pancake breakfast in between the two services which was great too. ron and I had a quiet afternoon, resting up from the big morning.
So grateful to be cancer free this Easter and able to participate in the services - God is good - we are so blessed.
