First week in April 2019
What a week!!! On Tuesday, I worked at the election polls - from 5:15 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. I enjoyed the day - believe it or not - but it was grueling none the less.
On Wednesday, the garage sale marathon began! Ron and I took both our cars full go the brim - twice - over to Sieger's and unloaded them. Sat up tables. Put out all the items for sale - was at Sieger's 7 hours on Wednesday.
Wednesday night we went to the Bank Advisory Meeting at Meadowlake. They honored Ron for his retirement. It was a great steak dinner.
On Thursday, I was there 4 hours - had presales of $181.
I left home at 7:30 am. on Friday and put out the Garage Sale signs on my way to Sieger's for the 8 a.m. start. We had so many customers, we didn't look up - or eat our cinnamon rolls I took over - until 11 a.m.!!!!! Sold so much stuff.
Ron and I left Clinton around 3;30 p.m. to meet Amanda and the kids at Belton so the kids could come home with us. They wanted to eat at Freddy's, so we had burgers and ice cream before leaving Belton. When we got to Clinton, they packed up their cookies - 2 to a package in a ziplock bag - for sales at the lemonade stand on Saturday. I had baked them 10 dozen cookies earlier in the week - sugar cookies and peanut butter cookies. After that, we dyed Easter eggs - using shaving cream and food coloring - wearing gloves of course. We had a good time.
Saturday morning, Peyton accompanied me to take the signs back out. Then we stopped by Casey's for a cappuccino and hot chocolate. She was so much help and so much fun. Before we left the house, we had packed 1/2 the lemonade and some bottles of water in the cooler. Garrison and Ron brought the cooler and the lemonade stand over to Sieger's. They had a wonderful day - sunny and warm - sold all the lemonade the had and all the cookies by 11 a.m. - Ron came back home to get the rest of the lemonade which they sold out by 2 p.m. They had so much fun and were so polite to the customers. The customers were very generous. They had $44 at the end of the day to split. They made more on Saturday than I did!!!!! My total garage sales were $567 - I was ecstatic!!!!! I didn't have much of value. Mostly, so happy to be rid of all the treasures.
After we counted all the money, we took the kids out to an early dinner at El Puerto before we drove back to Belton to meet Amanda. What a great day.
We skipped church on Sunday to get tables, etc. put away from the garage sale, clean house and just regroup. Ron grilled steak, hamburgers and hotdogs at noon and I made garlic mashed potatoes. WE will have meat for the week. We took naps in the afternoon before going to David and Deb Mills' house for Supper Club.
An exhausting week, but I am glad it was a good one too. We are blessed.
