Memorial Day with Peyton

Happy 8th Wedding Anniversary to Amanda and Chad! Grandpa and Grammy traveled to Olathe to stay with Peyton on Sunday while her parents went out to dinner to celebrate - we were the big winners on that deal! We had fun taking walks, playing on her play set, using her bubble gun (she is good), etc. before getting ready for bed. On Monday, the guys played golf while we 3 girls shopped, went to the pool and just had fun being together. What a memorable Memorial Day weekend! We are blessed.

Fun at the Lake and More

Thursday evening, we all headed to the Lake of the Ozarks to spend a couple of days at my brother's condo. We had a fantastic time relaxing, playing golf and enjoying the playground. Saturday evening, we were all back in Clinton where the kids enjoyed a little golf while Grammy and Grandpa had a blast playing with Peyton, giving her a bath (it was fun - see pics) and putting her to bed. She is such a joy. What a fun weekend - thanks for the hospitality Mintuns and thanks to the Todds for sharing their time with us.

Mother's Day Weekend and More

We started celebrating early this year - Grammy and Grandpa traveled to Olathe on Thursday afternoon to check out Peyton's new play set - WOW - it is something, and she loves it. Her Daddy did a fantastic job assembling it. At Peyton's insistence, we both climbed in with her - Grandpa even went down the slide. We had a great visit, coming home on Friday. On Saturday evening, the St. Louis Mintuns arrived - we had a scrumptious fried chicken dinner at Mom and Daddy's. The Todds arrived in Clinton later int he evening - we enjoyed playing with Peyton and visiting with them before bedtime.
On Sunday, Peyton, her Momma and Grammy had breakfast with Great Grandma/pa Mintun and Uncle Mark. We went to church where Amanda joined me for an organ/piano duet prelude (which always makes me happy). The whole gang enjoyed lunch at our house to share a meal and give thanks for our Mothers. Peyton entertained and amazed everyone - she had a great time, as did we.

Peyton Discovers Cool Whip

Amanda, Chad and Peyton arrived in Clinton Saturday evening and made our May Day special. Peyton stayed with us while her parents when to ElSambre for a late dinner date. We had such a good time playing. We gave her a bath and put her to bed - she is such a good little traveler and loves sleeping in her Clinton crib. Sunday morning Amanda, Peyton and I went to Great Grandma and Great Grandpa's for breakfast and a visit before Peyton, Grammy and Grandpa went to church. We enjoyed having her with us and sharing her with our church family.
At lunch (see picture above), Peyton discovered Cool Whip - with a vengence! She is such a good little eater, and it was so much fun watching her enjoy something sweet. The strawberry pie the cool whip was on top of wasn't too bad either.
Amanda, Peyton and Grammy attended a baby shower for Emily Rabel Shuck and her new son, Aiden at the Edgett home. It was great seeing old friends and having an opportunity to meet Aiden and for others to meet Peyton. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Following the shower, Amanda met up with the guys who were playing golf - Grammy and Peyton visited the great grandparents for about an hour and then enjoyed playing once we arrived back home. What a fantastic weekend!
