Christmas 2020 Fun Visit from Peyton & Garrison - 12/13-12/14/2020

We were blessed with a last minute overnight visit with the kiddos - we will always take it!!!!  Ron had driven to Chicago to trade a vehicle for Jim Raysik GMC, so I drove by myself to Overland Park to pick the kids up on Saturday after their activities for the day were finished - around 1 p.m.  then the fun started. We stopped - per request - at Wendy's for a Frosty and had chatter all the way home - warmed my heart.

We made cinnamon applesauce ornaments - pop tart gingerbread houses (a hit) - fixed meals together and watched the Chiefs game together on Sunday.  As warned (ha ha) - watching the Chiefs with Garrison was a treat.  He knows a lot about football and loves to share it!!!  Talk, talk, talk.  He loved explaining what was going on.  What a joy.  Peyton just rolled her eyes.

Santa had a tip they were going to be in Clinton, so they woke up to filled stockings and had fun with that.

Marnie Bellamy and I played the special music and prelude for the Facebook worship service on 12/6 and will again on 12/20/2020 - we love playing together.

God is good and we are blessed.

Thanksgiving/Baking Day 2020

The weekend before Thanksgiving, we went to Overland Park to give Peyton her birthday presents - she is 12 - and take them out to lunch for her birthday to YaYa's.

Thanksgiving Day was different this year - no Community Turkey Dinner for us to work at due to Covid, so we had a quiet lunch of baked potatoes and fixed items for our snack time when the kids arrived around 4 p.m.

Baking Day 2020 was a huge success.  The guys played golf Friday morning - Garrison joined them for 3 holes, but he had to get home to help with baking day!!!!  He was so excited.  He once again took his "job" of unwrapping 100 mini Reese's peanut butter cups very seriously!!!!  He did a great job and also enjoyed helping with other things, including frosting and decorating sugar cookies with his Mom and me.  Peyton wanted to make cream puffs again - they turned out great once again.

For dinner Friday night, we had, by request, Amanda's favorite bacon wrapped baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn and hot rolls.

Mark remained hospitalized after a botched biopsy collapsed his lung on Monday.   He was discharged Saturday with a chest tube still in place.  He will go back in 10 days to have it removed.  Chemo will be delayed because of it.

Saturday morning we enjoyed Donut Palace donuts and then had Pizza Glen pizza before they left to go to Lexington for a visit before going home.  We had a wonderful time and feel so blessed to have family in our lives.
