Weekend visit to Olathe
Grammaw and Grammy traveled to Olathe for Saturday and Sunday. We had loads of fun playing, baking cookies, a trip to the pool for Grammy, Grammaw and Peyton, and we stayed with the kids while Mommy and Daddy went to a birthday party Saturday night. On Sunday we played outside and went to Red Robin for lunch, followed by a trip to Target. Rest time in the afternoon for all before we traveled back home. Grandpa sat this one out to paint the stucco on our house. The other pictures of the weekend did not transfer for some reason.

Peyton's First Dance Recital - June 16, 2012
Peyton has been practicing for weeks for her dance recital - excited about her dance steps and especially happy about the Daddy/Daughter Dance. Tuesday's lesson was less than encouraging - she refused to dance! Now what! Well, her Mommy and Daddy worked with her, Grammy prayed and we all hoped that come recital day, she would dance - and dance she did!
Chad and Peyton went to the dress rehearsal on Friday evening, and she did great at it. Amanda spent quite a bit of time getting Peyton's hair and make "just right" - and then Chad dropped her off for the big day. There were 24 other numbers before Peyton's class danced - it was a long time for her to wait, but when she came out on stage, she owned it! She did such a great job - did her steps - with no tears! They were all so cute - Peyton the cutest of course! Then for the Daddy/Daughter dance, they wore their matching t-shirts and danced like professionals. Afterward, she gave her Daddy a high five and was all smiles. At the end, Chad put her up on his shoulder for the finale - and she raised her arms in joy with her fingers extended. She had accomplished the goal! We were all so proud of her - Grammy cried. Answered prayers.
Peyton was quite proud of her medal - around her neck - which she received for dancing. She liked her flowers and seemed happy all four grandparents and her parents - and Garrison - were there to watch her. We were all so proud of her!
After the recital, all 8 of us traveled to Olive Garden for a meal to celebrate Father's Day - thanks to Amanda and Chad! We had a great time visiting. What a great day!
Scare afterwards when Garrison had to go to Urgent Care with a fever and swollen private parts. They assured Amanda he was okay - answered prayers.

Weekend visit from Peyton and Garrison - June 2012
Peyton and Garrison spent the weekend with us while their parents finished their scuba diving certification at Tablerock Lake - and did we ever have a good time! Some of the things we did: watched frogs at the pond across the street, Peyton helped Grandpa water flowers both nights, we baked Mommy a birthday cake and decorated a picture frame for Peyton and Garrison to give her - Peyton and Grandpa wrapped it in Hello Kitty paper - how adorable. Grammaw and Grammy walked the kids over to the Methodist Church playground in the double stroller from Grammaw's house, Peyton picked cucumbers (and ate them), and helped Grammaw shell peas - Garrison and Peyton both liked the peas!. Peyton helped Grammy make cheeseburger pie for lunch and enjoyed a chocolate ice cream cone (Garrison had a bite or two). Peyton took her first shower and loved it! Garrison took his bath in the kitchen sink - probably a first for him too. Both slept all night both nights - Peyton asked to sleep with Grammy on Saturday night which was a special treat for both of us. They took a splash in the pool outside. Peyton made jigglers. Garrison practiced his walking skills and loved playing with the toys. He is such a good baby - ate everything he was supposed to and drank all of his bottles (he is finished with nursing from Mommy now but still has frozen Mommy milk to get him through his first year - and he loves it).
Mommy and Daddy returned Sunday evening - we all enjoyed the birthday cake Peyton had lovingly made her Mommy - and she helped her blow out the candles. We had a nice visit before they went home - now our house is sooooooooo quiet!
We loved every single minute of their visit and hope they return soon!
