Second 2 weeks of September 2024 - Cheer/Baseball/Car Accident

We attended two hayrides/picnics at High Bank, Gus & Susie Wetzel's farm - first one for P.E.O. - second one was a church gathering.  We had a lot of fun with friends - lovely weather for both.

On Monday, 9/22, we went to see Peyton cheer at the JV football game at BVNW.  We had a fun evening watching her and visiting with Amanda - the boys were at baseball.

We went to Liberty on Saturday, 9/28/2024 to watch Garrison's baseball tournament.  Garrison had a great evening of baseball - had a double and had some good plays as catcher.  On the way home, it was very dark, and Ron missed the exit off 210 onto 435.  He tried to swerve and correct and hit a big curb which immediately blew both tires on the driver's side.  Thankfully, we weren't hurt and didn't hurt anyone else or any property damage.  It was a long evening of talking to roadside assistance and American Family Insurance.  911 was great - deputy sheriff's arrived promptly and were helpful.  A tow truck came and loaded the car as it was not drivable and took us to meet Amanda and Peyton who brought us to Clinton, spent the night and went back the next morning for more baseball.  ABA won the 8 am game but lost at noon.  We hope to find out when they will fix our vehicle and when we can get it back on Monday.

Peyton and some other cheerleaders went to an event meeting a classmate of hers who was riding 150 miles, legally blind, on his bike to raise money for a disease he has that only 35 other Americans have.  They were on TV which we recorded.  She looked beautiful as always.

We were so blessed to be safe during the car accident.  God is good and we are blessed.

First 2 Weeks of September 2024 - Peyton cheering and in the band; Homecoming Dance; Garrison Baseball

A busy few weeks.  We've been to two Blue Valley Northwest High School football games - not to see football but to watch Peyton as a cheerleader and playing the clarinet in the marching band.  And she killed it both times!  We can pick her out easily in the marching band of 150 students because only she and one other girl have on cheerleading uniforms - and the other girl has red hair.  Luckily she is on the end of the group of cheerleaders which is closest to us sitting in the stands - we can see her easily.  So fun to watch her experiencing what she loves.

Garrison's ABA Piper baseball team finally had another baseball tournament - the first one for Fall Ball.  We went to the Friday night and Sunday morning games and had so much fun.  Garrison played first base, pitcher and catcher and did so shining.  He had numerous hits and had a great game behind the plate on Sunday, throwing out a player at first, tackling a player at home trying to score - and got him out!!!!

Ron played in another golf tournament - the annual Boy Scout Tournament with Gary Cover, John Drury and Randy Wertz.  They didn't win but had fun.

I've been playing the piano and organ at church a couple of times a month for the 8:15 and 9:15 services and love it.  I alternate with 4 others - a task we committed to for 4 months - 2 years ago.  It's okay - we all enjoy doing what we love to Serve the Lord.

Biggest event of this period belonged to Peyton.  She had her first car date with Chase Fox to attend the BVNW Homecoming Dance.  Isn't she beautiful??????  Her best friend from day care since they were 3, Victoria, spent the afternoon at the Todd house getting ready together.  Victoria and her date aa well as Peyton and Chase and all 8 parents met at the Todd's for pictures prior to the dance.  The parents all stayed for a glass of wine and had a good time too.  The two couples went out to dinner before the dance, went to the dance, and then to an after dance party at Isabella Large's house.  Chase and Peyton are now officially "dating" - he asked her to be his girlfriend which was cute.  They make a cute couple.

God is good - we are blessed.
