This past Saturday, it was fun day with the Todds. Grandpa went to KC with his friends, Dennis and Mike and met Chad and his friend, Patrick at the Golf Show before having lunch at Jason's Deli. Later, Ron, Chad and Patrick played golf - it was a beautiful day.
I headed to Olathe early and stopped at Kohl's for a return before meeting up with Amanda and the grandkids. Peyton called me while I was at Kohl's and asked, "Where are you Grammy?" I asked her if she was ready for me to come (it wasn't 9 a.m. yet), and she said so sweetly, yes. I hurried my trip to Kohl's and motored on over to 156th Terr. where I was met with open arms from Peyton and a sweet smile from Garrison.
We traveled to Oak Park Mall and had a ball. Peyton and I rode the carousel twice - once in the spinning tea cup and once on the Zebra (I just stood). All the girls got new shoes - Grammy was the big winner followed by Peyton then Mommy with only one pair. Poor little Garrison was satisifed just to hang out and watch - he is so laid back and is such a good baby.
We had lunch at Olive Garden - a Peyton favorite. The kids fell asleep on the way home, so we chose to drive around for an hour or so to let them sleep (Peyton would have never gone back to sleep had we gone home), and it gave Amanda and me an opportunity to talk uninterrupted - hmmmmmm - the constantly talking Peyton.
After we got back to Amanda's, we played. I had taken Amanda's flower girl dress from Uncle Merle and Aunt Debbie's wedding 28 years ago with me - Amanda was 3 at the time - so the dress fit Peyton perfectly. She loved twirling around with the skirt flowing and showing me her dance moves from dance class. We also baked cookies. Garrison enjoyed the car toy I had taken him.
The guys showed up for the end of the MU/KU game, and afterward we all went to Red Robin for dinner.
A great day with priceless family memories.
