Mid-May- Amanda's Birthday 2021

It's been a busy four weeks!

We've been attending a lot of ball games and loving every minute!  Peyton finished up her Spring Volleyball with her Blue Valley team and has now started playing sand volleyball.  Peyton has excelled with serving and setting - the whole team improved a lot from the Fall.  Garrison played flag football this Spring for the first time, and the Regulators have been in full swing - even had a tournament in May.  We attended and stayed until 11:30 p.m. watching the second game - there had been rain delays.  Garrison has been a superstar - pitching, catching and batting!!!!  We are so proud of him and his coach, his Dad.

Peyton and Garrison finished school the Friday before Memorial Day - Peyton will be a 7th grader next year, and Garrison will be a 4th grader.  They did great this year, navigating virtual school, hybrid school and then full-time in-person school toward the last.  So proud of both of them.

Amanda and family attended a Royals game for the first time since 2019.  They had a good time.  Ron and I went to Mark's condo for lunch on the Friday to see Tom and his girlfriend, Janine who were visiting from New York.

We had a big snapping turtle that tried to get in our house one Sunday afternoon - scared us to pieces.  He was making a lot of racket.  Not sure how he got up our front steps.

My piano partner, Marnie Bellamy, and I have been playing the piano at church quite a bit - specials, and gathering music.  We practice once a week for a couple of times together and have a blast.

We had a new fence installed around our patio.  It gives us more privacy.

Adara is the kids' nanny for the 3rd summer in a row.  They love her, and she does a good job making things fun for them and taking them to piano and guitar lessons, camps, and many fun things.  Garrison has already been to a baseball camp and is starting golf camp tomorrow.

Amanda has been going to Seattle to work 2 days once a month since Covid hit.  She has returned to the office part-time and is still working from home some.   Chad continues to work from home.  Remodeling has started again at their house - this year the master bedroom and bathroom and the bedrooms upstairs.  It's been interesting.

The Todds - all 16 of them - went to Disney World for a few days in early June.  They had a good time.

Peyton has braces on her teeth now and is having them tightened monthly.  Her belated birthday "party", zip lining with Hailey and Victoria, her friends, took place in late May.

Ron hasn't had much progress with his prostate cancer treatment this past 4 weeks, but it is gearing up.  He has to take Zytiga (a cancer drug) and Prednisone daily for 2 years.  He will get a hormone shot once every 3 months.  He has had a couple of procedures preparing for radiation, hopefully to start later in June for 8 1/2 weeks, daily.  God is good - he is feeling pretty good.

Amanda, our baby, turned 40 on June 11.  We took everyone out to celebrate at Rye on Sunday, June 13.  Chad is hosting a birthday party for her at Lidia's next Saturday (we will get to keep the kids for 2 nights). They are planning on around 16-20 people.  We are so very proud of her.

Peyton got her first Covid 19 shot on June 12.  She will get the second one July 5.

We are blessed with a beautiful family and good health.
