Peyton & Garrison Visit in Clinton
We had a fantastic weekend - Amanda and the grands arrived Friday evening in Clinton in time to have dinner with Grandma Mintun, cousin Joe from St. Louis and us - fun evening. Saturday morning, Amanda journeyed on to the Lake for her annual college friend get-together, leaving Peyton and Garrison in Clinton with us! Lucky us! The kids and I went to Grammaw's late Saturday morning to visit with her and Joe who had spent the night with Grammaw. Grammaw, Peyton, Garrison and I took a little trip to the play area at our church - had fun swinging, going down the slide, monkey bars, etc. - what a nice, shady area. We had Pizza Glen for lunch, along with ice cream cones, before Joe traveled on back to St. Louis. Garrison took a great nap in the Pack 'n Play while Peyton had quiet time watching cartoons on TV. Grandpa joined us around 3 p.m. following the golf tournament he played in - then we had dinner at Grammaw's before going home. Peyton had a great time helping Grandpa water the shrubs and flowers - baths - then bedtime - both sound asleep by 8 p.m. Sunday morning, Ron picked up Mom to come to our house for the morning where Peyton checked out the frogs and turtles across the street on the 17th tee box pond with Grammaw and Grandpa. She had a blast. Peyton helped Grammy fix lunch - she is good at rolling crescent rolls, setting the table (with all the yellow paper plates in the house) and baked chocolate chip cookes for lunch. We had a great time. Mommy arrived in time for lunch and a short visit before they went back to Olathe. Great family memories.
