Christmas Eve/Christmas Day 2024

Merry Christmas 2024.

On Christmas Sunday, Marnie Bellamy and I played the gathering music, offertory and service music for the 8:15 service at church, and Brenda Ford and Janet Parks joined us for a special 8 hands version of Angels We Have Heard on High.  8 hands on 2 pianos - it was fun.

Christmas Eve, we drove to Leawood to join Amanda and family for our Christmas Eve Dinner at Sullivan's Steak House.  It was delicious and fun.  We went back to their house to open our presents and spent the night.  We sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and the kids blew out the candles.   Christmas morning we all discovered our stockings full of goodies and watched the kids open their Want/Read/Wear/Need gifts from their parents before we ate our traditional cherry coffee cake breakfast.

We helped at and ate at the potluck lunch at church before we watched the Chiefs win!

God is good - we are blessed.

Mid-December 2024 - Peyton cheers/Garrison's Band Concert/Peggy Entertains at the Hospital

We were privileged to make a few trips to Overland Park recently - to see Peyton cheer at two different basketball games and to see Garrison's band concert.

After the girls' basketball game, Peyton went out to dinner with us to Culver's.  She had a bad day, as her boyfriend had broken up with her that day, but she was sweet as ever.  For the other game, we stopped by the house first and took her with us to the game.  It's a 20 minute drive, and we arrived too early so we had lots of time to visit with Peyton in the car and hear about her finals, fun with friends, etc.

We went to see Garrison's holiday band concert - he plays the tuba.  We had a great time seeing how much they had improved since the October concert.

On December 17, I played the piano for 30 minutes at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in their lobby to entertain others as they were arriving to visit folks in the hospital, workers and people just walking through.  It was fun, but I'm glad it is over - I practiced quite a bit for the event.

On Sunday, December 22, Marnie Bellamy and I are playing 20 minutes of gathering music, the service music and a special piece with our 8 hands group - Marnie, me, Brenda Ford and Janet Parks.  We have played together occasionally for years.  Looking forward to it.  After church, we are going to Clint's Bar and Grill for brunch with Dennis and Debbie Sieger.

We are blessed - God is good.

Peyton's Limo BD Party'Cheer Ball/Basketball for G/Band Concert

It's been a busy, fabulous week or so for the Todd family and thus for us!!!  We enjoyed Peyton's Ugly Sweater Christmas Band Concert and had the privilege of visiting with her a bit at home before.  They played so well!!!!

On Friday Night, Peyton had her girlfriend birthday party - a limo took them around the city to see all the beautiful lights, stopping at a few for pics.  Amanda bought them matching pjs to wear, and they spent the night.  What fun!

Saturday morning, we watched Garrison's basketball game.  The score wasn't what they would have liked, but Garrison had a great game - many assists, blocks, rebounds and some points too.  We visited with him afterward, and he was so sweet and thanked us for coming.   He has played with many of the boys on this team since they were 4 years old, playing 3 on 3 with the goals taken down very low.  It is amazing to see them now - tall and really playing basketball.

Saturday night, Peyton hosted many of the cheerleaders before the game for pictures with their dates, and then they all went to Maggiano's for dinner before the actual Snow Ball (aka cheer ball).  She went with her boyfriend, Chase Fox.  What an exciting time for her.

We feel blessed to get to hear about and witness the fun times in their lives.  God is good.
