Three days after Christmas, Amanda and Peyton brought Bingo to Clinton for his "Clinton Vacation" while they took a family trip to Kauai, Hawaii for 8 days.
The Todds enjoyed fun in the sun, hiking, delicious food and beach and pool time in Hawaii. Everything went perfectly until time to come home when a blizzard hit Kansas City with 11" of snow, 1/2" of ice and tremendous winds preventing them from traveling on from their connection in Seattle to Kansas City. So - they made lemonade out of lemons and rebooked a flight for Chad, Peyton and Garrison to fly home on Tuesday after the runways would be cleaned and safe, and Amanda was going to have to fly back to Seattle for work on Tuesday anyway, so she did a little shopping for some work clothes for the week and went to work Monday morning. She took them to the airport Tuesday and then on to work, and they flew home safely. No harm as school was cancelled Monday-Wednesday anyway for snow and cold temperatures, so they missed no school.
Because if was so cold and roads not great, the decision was made to leave Bingo in Clinton until Saturday when we had planned to go to their house anyway so we could see Garrison's basketball game that morning. So - we had Bingo 2 weeks instead of 1 week. The first 7 days, Ron and I both took him for a walk each morning, but the last 7 days, it was too snowy and cold. But - Bingo was a rockstar and never once hesitated to go out to potty on his tether out the sliding door. Luckily, the door did not freeze shut like it sometimes does, and he did his "business" (both), every single day. He slept in his kennel each night like a champ, and stayed in his kennel if we were both gone - which wasn't often. We didn't leave the house at all for 5 days in a row when it was snowing and cold. We had plenty of food and treats, and it all went well. No worries.
I met Marnie at church to practice on Wednesday. My Bible Study was canceled. PEO was cancelled. It was an interesting 2 weeks. Marnie and I will play at church Sunday, and then Ron and I plan to drive back to OP for another of Garrison's basketball games.
God is good - we are blessed.
