On May 17, we drove to Overland Park to see the Todds. Amanda and Chad took advantage of having us there to get their house ready for the remodel which started on Monday, May 18. We took Peyton and Garrison with us and we made the most of the time we had, although not what we were used to before Covid 19.
We went through the drive-thru at Culver's and ordered our food. We put up the back of the van, and we sat in the back of the van for a "van picnic" to eat our lunch - it was fun - we parked in an abandoned parking lot. We drove around a bit, then we went back to their house to pick up their bikes. We went to the high school parking lot where they rode their bikes and had races. It was so good to spend time with them. We went back to their house, and Amanda, Peyton and I sat out on the patio and visited while Grandpa took a nap. A good day.
The kids had their last day of school 2020 - sort of - since they had been homeschooled since mid-March. They went to the school to take pictures. Amanda and some friends put together a video for 5th grade farewell for Peyton since they were unable to have the event due to Covid 19 and school being closed. She did a lovely job of it, and Peyton was pleased. It was very nice. Adara, their nanny, will start staying with them on the Tuesday after Memorial Day.
On Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, I played the piano at church with my duet partner, Marnie Bellamy. We played the gathering music, the special and during offertory. I also played with Sam for the hymns. It was such a great time to be a part of the Facebook Worship Service - still not having in person church during Covid 19.
After church, Amanda and the kids came to visit and have lunch. We had a great time visiting and having Amanda's favorite baked chicken lunch. We took a ride in our "new to us" 2019 GMC Terrain which we surprised them with - we had purchased it on May 19, trading in our 2011 Town and Country Van. Peyton and Garrison stayed to spend the night - yay - it was the first time since the first part of March due to Covid 19. Grandpa and Garrison played golf - 5 holes. I think Garrison liked driving the golf cart the most!!!! He's a good little golfer and was Grandpa's good luck charm, as Grandpa played better than normal too! Peyton and I played Crazy 8's and fixed her hair into French braid pig tails. She is so mature these days and so much fun. They wanted McDonald's for dinner, so we all went to pick up some food. After dinner, they took baths, and then we went to Dairy Queen to get ice cream for dessert. A long, slow line there, then we drove around town a bit before coming home. We played Crazy 8's and Old Maid. On Monday, Memorial Day, Grandpa and Peyton went to Donut Palace to get our donuts for breakfast. Garrison and Grandpa went back to play golf which was a good thing, because they had left Garrison's club head covers in the cart on Sunday and someone had turned them in, so they picked them up!!!! They only played one hole before a sudden downpour started and they had to come home. Peyton and I braided her hair again before they returned, then we all played Crazy 8's and Kings in the Corners. We had a great time and had lots of laughs. We all fixed tacos for lunch. Peyton browned the hamburger. Garrison chopped lettuce, tomatoes, green onions, etc. Peyton chopped avocados and got out the taco sauce and sour cream and cheese. They were a lot of help and worked well together. After dessert of ice cream sundaes, we got ready and took them back home - sadly. We loved having them. We saw the progress of their remodel - lots of demolition done and can lights installed. Walls up. Fun to see.
We are blessed. God is good.

Stay at Home Order Continues May 2, 2020
It's May 2, and we have still been following the State of Missouri and State of Kansas Stay-at-Home orders. Two weeks ago, Amanda and the kids came for a garage visit so that we could remain 6 feet apart and could still visit a bit. They were here about an hour. It was great to see them.
The quarantine - stay at home - has continued. I have been staying home almost exclusively. I did go to Aldi one day with mask and gloves on - I was afraid the whole time I was there. Ron has played golf 10 times in April (had now hurt his back), and he has been working at the Pro Shop every Thursday.
Ron gathered with his buddies for lunch on April 29 to celebrate Dennis Sieger's 70th birthday. We had dinner with Dennis and Debbie that evening at their house - 6'apart.
On May 2, Amanda, Peyton and Garrison came to Clinton for a 2 hour visit - outside at a social distance - it was great to see them. They played marshmallow shooters, yard darts, and Garrison played golf with Ron. It was fun to be outside.
We are doing well and thank God we are healthy. Praying a treatment and vaccine are developed for this horrible Covid 19 Coronavirus soon.
We are blessed.
