March and April 2020 - Coronavirus Covid 19
Wow - it's been a long time since I added to my blog. I'll try to remember everything. Peyton and Chad attended her final Daddy/Daughter Dance at Cottonwood Point Elementary - dinner out first at Nick and Jake's with her friends and their dads. We went to her band concert at Blue Valley Northwest High School - she and her 5th grade band did a job. Garrison and his Mom made the Patrick Mahomes cake for the Cub Scout auction - he won first place and the cake sold for $110!!!!
We were blessed to have the kids here in March for a few days of Spring Break. Anticipating not being able to be together for Easter because of the Covid 19, we died eggs - both traditionally and with shaving cream and hid the outside for an early Easter Egg Hunt. They had fun - so did Grammy and Grandpa. We did a lot of cooking and baking while they were here. They frosted and decorated Easter cut out cookies - we fixed taco salads two times - Peyton browned the hamburger and Garrison chopped lettuce, green onions, tomatoes, etc. We had fun cooking together. We had to stay home, so we played a lot of games. Ron took them to the #17 tee box to hit balls over and into the pond - Garrison went two times and hit 13 balls over!!! Peyton hit 5 over!!!! They used to all go IN the pond. They are growing up.
Garrison and I made two crafts out of his Star Wars craft book which included spray paint!!!! They both went well. Peyton made her first chocolate pie - a family tradition - from start to finish - even making scratch crust. She served it when her Mom and Dad came to pick them up. It was delicious!
The first pictures are of Amanda/family on Easter Sunday. We had to have Easter separately this year due to the Pandemic - Covid 19 - and the Stay at Home Order which has been going on a month now and might go on for a few more weeks. We have to stay home except to go to get essentials - food, etc.
I played with Marnie Bellamy for a recorded Good Friday service before the Stay at Home Order began. Church has been online for 4 weeks now. It's all strange. I have been making masks out of bandanas for us to wear when in public. We ordered food from Walmart online and picked it up in the parking lot. We made a quick trip to Overland Park the week before Easter to take the kids their Easter baskets - it was raining, so we stood 6 feet apart in their garage, visited 5 minutes and dropped off the masks I made them and their Easter baskets. Sad. I miss them so much.
God is with us and God is good. We are blessed even in this trying time!
