Mid-September 2017

What a week!  I hung out my dog-sitting shingle and had a busy time.  We kept Roxy, Kelly's dog, at our house.  She was good - most of the time - except when it came to sleeping.  Two nights of several trips out during the night, and then she decided she didn't want to sleep in the kennel at all!  The rest of the week, she slept in our room - on Ron's side of the bed - but she slept!  They came back from vacation 3 days early which was a relief.  Monday-WEdnesday I also took care of Sippie (neighbor Esther's dog), but he stays home and I just went there 4 times a day to put him out.  Between the 2 dogs, I was a busy girl.  Glad it's over - wouldn't want it to be a regular thing for sure.

Went to exercise class, worked at church, lunch with "old" sorority group, Bible Study and city-wide garage sales during the week.

Ron and I went to Overland Park on Saturday.  He went with Chad and Garrison to Garrison's soccer match - I went with Amanda to pick up Peyton at her cheerleading camp and to watch their short performance of what they learned.  She did a good job!  Garrison scored a goal and said his team "won" (they don't keep score).  With not much time in between the morning events and Peyton's volleyball game at 12:30, we decided that the guys would do their thing for lunch and so would the girls, and we would all meet at the volleyball game.  Peyton chose Taco Bell since we didn't have much time.  While we were eating, guess who walked in - the guys!!!!  They didn't know we were there but had just decided on Taco Bell for the same reasons we did.  Of all the places to eat nearby, what were the chances we would end up at the same place.

The volleyball game was good - Peyton had improved from the week before and got 2 of her serves over.  She was on cloud 9.  Their team did not win, but all the games were close - within 2-3 points difference.

Ron and I came on home after volleyball and then drove to Warrensburg to pick up the new shower doors we ordered from Lowe's.  They are now awaiting the handyman to install them sometime hopefully this week.

On Sunday, we went to church and then to the Ammons' to watch football with 4 other couples and to have a contributive lunch.

We are blessed.

It's September 2017

Since I didn't post last week, I'll include some from the past two weeks.  On Labor Day weekend, we drove to the Lake of the Ozarks on Saturday to visit Mark and Mary at their condo there.  We had a lovely visit and delicious lunch - with my favorite, spinach dip - and Ron's favorite, cherry pie.  It was a delightful weather day, and we sat out on their balcony and visited all afternoon.

On Sunday, I played the piano for the gathering music and hymns for the service at church.  That evening we went to the home of David and Deb Mills for our monthly Supper Club gathering - with New Orleans cuisine this time.  A fun evening.

We didn't do much on the actual Labor Day on Monday, but we got a long of things done around the house, and I fixed fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy for lunch.

It was a busy week with our handyman here all week and his power washer buddies here one day to power wash the patio, eves and guttering - the house looks clean and nice.  Charlie painted around the front door and will get up the new storm door in the next couple of weeks.  He painted the stucco, and we are getting ready for Fall/Winter.  Ron and I cleaned the outside lights today.

On Saturday, Ron played in the Boy Scout Golf Tournament, and his team won First Place in B Flight - $140 each prize money - woo hoo.  I went to Overland Park for a day with the Todds!  I saw Garrison play soccer and baseball and saw Peyton play her first every volleyball game.  Brunch at The Big Biscuit - what a day!

We are dog sitting Kelly's dog, Roxie, for 10 days.  She is shown in the last picture relaxing on the couch.  She slept great Friday night - horrible Saturday night, up 3 times.  Hopefully Sunday night will revert to Friday night's sleeping pattern!

We are blessed!
