Last 2 weeks of September 2019
We've been busy, and I'm behind. I'll try to remember what we have done for the last two weeks of September.
Mark has been here for lunch and to watch the Chiefs game with us the past two Sundays. It has been nice having him, and we have continued to get his paperwork in order. Jim Raysik sold the Buick for Mark this past Thursday which was a big relief for him. He is doing well adjusting to life without Mary.
I played the gathering music at church on 9/22 and the hymns with Sam. Ron has been working 2 part days a week at the pro shop at Meadowlake and likes it. He continues to play tennis 2 days a week and golf 1-2 times a week.
We have gone to soccer matches, baseball games and volleyball matches and have enjoyed them all. The kids are doing well in their Fall sports.
The kids were out of school last Monday, so we spent the day with them, taking them to the KC Zoo in the morning - to Culver's for lunch - and watched a movie in the afternoon.
We are blessed, and God is good!

Week of September 9-15, 2019
It's been a busy week. Ron worked at Meadowlake Tuesday until 4 p.m., then we drove to Overland Park for Garrison's baseball game. They won 12-7, and he had a good game.
Thursday night, I went to P.E.O. On Friday, Kelly and I went to some garage sales, then I worked at Debbie Sieger's garage sale from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. We had a good day and lunch from Smith's - tenderloins and onion rings.
Saturday morning, we left Clinton at 7 a.m. We stopped at Hyvee for their weekly bargains, then to Kohl's for a return, then to Peyton's double header volleyball games. She had a really good serving day and had some good volleys as well. On to Garrison's soccer match. The weather was beautiful. Garrison played well but didn't score any goals, however, his team won.
We all went to Sunset Grille for lunch after the soccer match. We had fun visiting with the family and having a tasty lunch. We came home and rested for a bit before I baked a chocolate sheet cake. We took a drive and went through the car show on the square and then took Fall flowers to the cemetery for Mom and Daddy's grave.
Mark is coming tomorrow for a visit and lunch after church. Looking forward to seeing him and going through his papers.

2019 Grandparent's Day (Weekend)
Ron played golf in the annual Boy Scout Golf Tournament with John Drury, Randy Wertz and Kyle Adkins on Saturday before we headed to Peyton's volleyball game in the afternoon. She played great - improvement was noted in all her teammates too. They only won 1 out of 3 games, but they were pleased with how they played and it was fun to watch.
After the match, we took Peyton and Garrison for grandparents weekend - we spent the night at the Springhill Suites - only 10 minutes from their house - but, we wanted to have a fun time with them swimming in the hotel pool and having fun. We were needed to stay with them, as Amanda and Chad were going to a 40th birthday party, so we thought - why not? We went to Olive Garden for dinner - one of their favorite places - then we swam both Saturday evening and Sunday morning. We enjoyed eating the "free" buffet breakfast at the hotel, and after showers, we headed to Scheels to buy Peyton new running shoes for Girls on the Run - and Garrison found one of his "little surprise" toys he loves.
Amanda, Chad and Garrison went to The Kauffman Center to see a Star Wars movie with a live symphony orchestra providing the score, and Garrison took a friend, Zach Ungles along too. Peyton chose not to go, so we stayed home with her and watched the Chiefs game and carried in food from Chipotle for our lunch. Then we went shopping to buy birthday presents for Claire and Haley, who are having a joint birthday party next weekend.
We feel so blessed to be a part of a loving, caring family - we love Amanda, Chad and the kids so much and enjoy spending time with them.
God is good.
