Garrison Turns 9 - Grammy turns 65 - July 2020

We've been busy attending Garrison's Regulator's Baseball Games - it truly is a baseball family.   Garrison is turning 9 and I am turning 65 tomorrow.  On Saturday, we took him his gifts and a chocolate chip cookie cake to celebrate.  Peyton and Garrison took me out for a special Asian Tea at Fat Bee's Tea - Peyton loves the place - so special they wanted to share that with me.

Ron took me to Overland Park for lunch at Costa Vida for my birthday on Monday.   We had a fun, quick trip spontaneously!

On Wednesday, Debbie Sieger is taking me to KC for our annual birthday outing - it will be different this year due to Covid restrictions, but we will have fun.  We will go back for more Regulators Baseball on Thursday evening and then back on Saturday for their last game of the season.

We have been blessed with a lovely family and wonderful times with them.  God is good!

Garrison hits Clinton alone July 2020

This was a semi-busy week.  Monday, we traveled to Overland Park to first take the kids for a bite to eat at Freddy's, then we all went to Garrison's baseball game.  It was a beautiful evening with a breeze, and we sat in the shade.  They won 28-4, and Garrison had a great night - a 2 RBI double and a good fielding night too.  His teammates and he were on fire!!!!

Marnie and I played pianos on Monday as well and recorded Fairest Lord Jesus to be shared on Facebook.

Saturday morning, we again drove to Overland Park for Garrison's baseball game.  They won again, and Garrison had a great game.  Best of all, we took him - by himself - to Culver's for lunch and then brought him home to Clinton with us for 3 days.  Peyton had commitments at home, so she couldn't join us this time.  We had a great time - crafts, painting, golf (2 times), swimming, he chose our menus - Crazy 8's - we had a blast.  He was an excellent houseguest.  We took him home on Monday afternoon, and then I shopped at Sam's Club for the first time since January due to Covid 19.

Clinton had a bad week for new cases of Covid 19 - went from 23 to 44 - yikes.   We decided to stay home even more again to try to keep from getting the disease.

We are blessed - God is good.

4th of July Weekend 2020

Clinton's annual Olde Glory Days celebration had to be cancelled this year due to Covid 19 Coronavirus restrictions, but that didn't stop the Arthur family from having a blast.   Amanda, Chad, Peyton and Garrison arrived on Friday, July 3 around 10:30 a.m.  We had snack-type foods for lunch with annual favorites of Mexican Corn Dip/fritos, Cocktail Weenies wrapped in Bacon (one of Peyton's favorites), and all the fixings.  Following lunch, everyone but Peyton and me played golf - Peyton and I watched a movie and visited (she was very tired from a busy week and didn't want to play games or do crafts).

The kids frosted and decorated an American flag fruit pizza with strawberries, blueberries and marshmallows.  Garrison counted the stripes - and was meticulous with the blueberries.  It was fun.

After golf, Garrison, Amanda and I frosted and decorated sugar cookies which required two batches of frosting.

By request, for dinner we ordered in Pizza Glen pizza and salads.  The kids took their showers early before we all went to the Benson Center parking lot to watch the $15,000 fireworks display - one of the best in years.  Garrison enjoyed his glow sticks.

On July 4 - The golfers went out earlier - around 9 a.m.  Peyton and I took a drive and picked yup Sonic drinks.  We played Crazy 8's and worked on lunch which the golfers joined us for around noon - pulled pork sandwiches.  Before lunch, the kids took Miss Esther some of the sugar cookies they had decorated the day before.

We had a wonderful abbreviated weekend - God is good - we are blessed.

Last Two Weeks of June 2020

Baseball and baseball sums up the last two weeks of June 2020 - Covid still going on!!!!  Since baseball is outside, we are able to take our lawn chairs and watch Garrison's ball games with his Mom and Peyton while Dad coaches!  Garrison plays catcher, first base and outfield and is the most handsome player on the team - just ask me.

We have taken him and his sister for ice cream and out to dinner before and after games and enjoyed it all.

We continue to stay pretty close to home with the Covid restrictions - watching church online through Facebook.  I have been attending Bible Study outside at an Artesian Park shelter house.  Ron continues to play golf and tennis and works at Meadowlake Country Club for a few hours on Thursdays.  I enjoy visiting outside with neighbors.  Mark joined us for lunch and a visit last Sunday. Marnie Bellamy and I continue to meet weekly to play two-piano pieces on the piano at church.

God is good, and we are blessed.
