January 2023 has been busy, but for some reason, I didn't take many pictures. I played the piano and organ the first 3 Sundays in January at church - still don't have a hired person - just volunteering, playing with Marnie 2 of the Sundays. Marnie and I practice once a week for 2 hours at the church - well, it's possible we MAY visit some of that time - ha ha.
Virgie Cook and I were the hostesses at the January PEO Meeting - held at the Rotary Building - 28 were in attendance. I remain President.
Ron and I hosted our Dessert Club of the Mills, Wallaces, Townsends and us on January 1 at 5 p.m.
We have enjoyed watching the Chiefs - regular games and now in the playoffs. Amanda was given 2 free tickets to the Playoff Game on January 22, and she took Garrison as her plus one. They had a great time - dressed warmly and didn't really get cold. It was Garrison's 4th Chiefs game (he's 11), but it was the first time he had sat outside - had always sat in a suite before. He loved the excitement of the crowd and cheering on the Chiefs - who won. They are blessed.
Ron has been driving about once a week for Jim Raysik car dealership - going to the auction in Belton to pick up cars, which he enjoys. We bought a new vehicle from Jim this month - a 2023 brand new GMC Acadia - and it's red!!!! It's beautiful with all the bells and whistles possible. Ron was laid off from his golf course part-tine job until Spring.
We are considering remodeling our bathroom on the main floor - Kustom Kat, Darren Palmer, came to find out what we wanted and will give us an estimate January 31.
I get together with Deb Mills every Wednesday for coffee after we go to Bible Study at the Baptist Church - a non-denominational group.
My brother, Mark, was diagnosed with another cancer - small cell carcinoma which has metastasized to his liver - Stage 4 - he started an aggressive chemo on January 23. We are praying the chemo will help extend his life. The prognosis is not good.
Peyton is cheerleading at middle school for the 8th grade boys basketball team. We will go next Monday to watch her. We have been going every Saturday to watch Garrison play Blue Valley Park and Rec basketball - same boys he has played with for several years, and they are sure getting better. Garrison is playing great. We enjoy going to the games and usually taking the family out for lunch either before or after.
I've been going through closets and drawers - finding things to sell in the upcoming city-wide garage sale in April.
God is so good - we are blessed.
