It's been a busy couple of weeks. Our baby, Amanda, had a birthday - she turned 42. We celebrated late with a chocolate pie by request.
Garrison and Chad went to Boy Scout Camp at Osceola for 10 days. Amanda had to go to Seattle for work, so Grandpa and Grammy stayed in Overland Park with Peyton beginning on Tuesday, June 13. She had Cheer practice for 31 hours that week, so we served mostly as Uber drivers, ha ha. She had a sand volleyball game on Wednesday which we went to and enjoyed. She received all her cheer "stuff", pom poms, back pack, uniform, jacket, etc. and was very excited. It was fun to be there with her experiencing all that. We had some great meals, etc. and lots of fun with her.
Grandpa came back to Clinton on Friday so he could travel to Boy Scout Camp with his friend, Gary Cover, who is a Chief (whatever that means). He got to see camp with Garrison and Chad and enjoyed a ceremony. Amanda came home late Friday night, but Peyton had Cheer until 4 p.m. on Saturday, so Amanda and I had Saturday together and we all came to Clinton afterward. The girls went to church with us on Father's Day and to hear me play the organ and piano. They went to Boy Scout Camp for visitor's Sunday and then back to Clinton for chocolate pie.
Amanda had Monday off for Juneteenth - she and Peyton had a great day together. I went back to OP Monday evening to stay with Peyton until Thursday because Amanda had to go back to Seattle unexpectedly early Tuesday morning. Peyton and I had a great time - took her to piano lesson, cheer practice and we went to her final sand volleyball game of the season. It was a great couple of weeks.
Garrison and Chad made a flying trip home on Tuesday afternoon so Garrison could go to baseball practice and then they spent the night in Clinton with Grandpa before going back Wednesday morning.
I played the organ and piano at church some, and Marnie and I practiced every week.
We went to Lenexa Friday afternoon for the State Baseball Tournament. They won - 8-4. Garrison played great, catching and some good hits and a walk. It was hot but bearable, nice breeze and we sat in the shade. Going back today, Saturday at 2:30 for game 2. Back on Sunday for up to 4 games depending on if they win or not. We will keep Bingo next week while the Todds go to Hawaii.
We are so blessed with a loving family and good health. Thanks to God.
