We hit the jackpot - Amanda/family came for the weekend and were able to get here in time Friday evening for Pizza Glen dinner! After dinner, we had a few minutes to play before the kids' bedtime, and Grandpa had some great tickle time. Peyton read a book to Garrison for their bedtime story - warmed my heart.
Saturday morning, I gave Peyton her new "blanket" which she requested I crochet for her - she loved it!!!! I was so happy. Now Garrison wants one too - but he wants his to be Ninja Turtle Colors - it's in the works!
Amanda, Chad, Peyton and Garrison took off to play golf around 9 a.m. on Saturday with the plans for the kids to come back home to our house after finishing #3, but things changed! First of all, P & G were having so much fun playing golf and driving the golf cart, that they didn't want to stop - but Chad was having back issues, so he came back to the house after #3 and Ron took his place - with Amanda and the kids along too!!!! They had a great time playing the rest of 9 holes before they came home. Shortly after they returned, we all went to Mallard's for lunch - delicious and fun.
We had a relaxing, restful afternoon and had sandwiches for dinner Saturday night. Peyton and I went to Walmart to buy yarn for Garrison's afghan "blanket". It was fun.
Sunday morning, Ron and Chad went to Clinton Country Club to play with John and Dennis in the American Cancer Society Golf Tournament. The rest of us spent the morning playing Go Fish, Simon Says, playing downstairs and Amanda even went through some things of hers to purge a bit! We had tuna salad for lunch and the kids had octopuses (hotdogs). We had a nice, slow morning which was very nice.
Sadly, they had to go home after lunch, but they will be back on Friday evening for at least part of the weekend - Chad is playing with Ron in a golf tournament again next weekend. Yay for golf tournaments!
We are blessed.
